2016 was the year in which the Oculus Rift was launched and within that span of years, we can safely say that it is in need of an overhaul so to speak.
Out came the Oculus Rift S. This VR headset has packs the much needed improvements. The single LCD screen provides 40% more pixels compared to it’s predecesor. The original Rift’s defective lenses are also corrected on this version. Notably, the straps are far more comfortable compared to the Ocuclus Rift although it feels similar to that of the Playstation VR
The Oculus Rift S ditched the Room Scale and instead will employ a tracking system based on 5 cameras. Apart from some minor improvements, the controllers are still the same. There is no need to worry though about buying new games since the Rift S is backwards compatible to the Oculus Rift catalogs. However, do take note that a powerful pc is needed in order to enjoy what this VR headset has to offer.
